David Gottfried is known as the father of the global green building movement: founding the U.S. Green Building Council and World Green Building Councils.  His book, Explosion Green is a personal memoir that tells the 20-year story of the formation and impact of USGBC (and LEED) and the World Green Building Council, now in 100 countries. A deeper storyline is Gottfried’s personal struggle for purpose and legacy. Paul Hawken states that no organization has had a greater impact on improving the environment than the USGBC and that this book is about “the mystery of change” and “how things change… about timing, hard work and manufactured luck. But it is about conviction above all — the affirmation of what is right and what is possible.”
