The month of June is Black Music Month. What better way to celebrate than to honor some of the music industries top contributors at the 8th Annual Black Music Honors.

What started as a dream for Founder/ Executive Producer, Don Jackson, has now grown into a star-studded annual event that found a niche with not only entertaining but inspiring audiences.  This year he was proud to announce that the Black Music Honors will premiere on the new Stellar Network, a network owned and managed by his company, Central City Productions.

The show was taped live at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.  Hosted by two-time Grammy Award winner, Letoya Luckett and Comedian, DeRay Davis.

Other celebrities such as Robin Thicke, Dave Hollister, Kenny Lattimore, Latocha Scott, Sevyn Streeter, Tweet, Tina Campbell, Nicole Wray and Anthony Hamilton came out to pay tribute to the honorees by taking us all back down memory lane performing some of their greatest hits.  After each performance, each honoree gave a tear-shedding speech.  The emotional gratitude was felt by everyone.

Spoiler alert!  Surprise performer and pregnant hip hop artist, Da Brat also made it out to give tribute to Missy Elliott.
