Making SMART Cool: A Conversation with Prince Ea, a Young Man Using Rap to Transform Us and Our World!

prince

Too much “I” and not enough “We,” that’s one of the core messages of Prince Ea, a rapper who demonstrates that rap has often gotten a bad rap. Here’s a young man mincing no words, but using wit, artistry and keen observation to wake us up to what we’re doing that’s destroying us and the planet. His video “Why I Think This World Should End” covers the gamut of what’s wrong with our world and calls upon US to change. And he’s not just talking. He’s doing something about it with his music and his movement, Making SMART Cool, integrating consciousness into hip hop. Who is Prince Ea? What inspired him to take this path? How does he explain his huge success? Tune in live or via podcast to this conversation with Prince Ea about the global shift on this planet. Plus watch “Why I Think This World Should End” on Beth’s new Inner Revolutionary TV channel on www.VoiceAmerica.TV, launching Monday, August 24. From that date on, enjoy a growing list of videos that tell the truth AND give us hope.

What’s the Story Behind Radical Grace, a Film About the Nuns vs. The Hierarchy? Meet Rebecca Parrish and Find Out!

Radical-Grace-Poster-without-ghosted-image

When you buck a big hierarchy like the Catholic Church, you can expect a fight. But perhaps the Vatican didn’t expect the fight back! Meet Rebecca Parrish, director of the inspiring film Radical Grace, which documents the struggle between U.S. nuns and the Catholic hierarchy. The film focuses on three remarkable nuns, including Simone Campbell (interviewed June 30 on InsideOut). Prior to Pope Francis, the Vatican launched an inquisition into American nuns and their social justice agenda, and it put a male bishop in charge of reforming them. The nuns and their allies pushed back. Ultimately Pope Francis called off the investigation and thanked the sisters for their dedication. This story transcends religion and women’s rights. It’s part of the Inner Revolution against mindless conformity and for the needs of real people. We’re thrilled to introduce you to director Rebecca Parrish. You’ll discover the story behind this film, Rebecca’s personal story and how making the film changed HER.

Gay Marriage from the Inside Out: Meet Two Diverse Couples Who Will Share Their Journey with Us!

Gay Marriages NYC

Thanks to the Supreme Court, same-sex marriage is now legal in all states. But what does that actually mean for gay people? Gay marriage is not just a political slogan or an opportunity for benefits and legal status. Any kind of marriage is a choice and challenge. On this show, we’ll talk about gay marriage from the inside out. Meet two very diverse couples. Larry and Corey live in a Southern state where same-sex marriage has NOT been legal. They’ve been together 8 years, but they never before had to confront the question: Should we marry? Debra and Heidi have been together over 30 years. They live in California, took commitment vows in 1993 (their ceremony was the subject of an Academy-award nominated documentary), have two children they birthed, and have been legally married under California law since 2008. Each couple has had to face social and family challenges, and each deals with the issues we all face in relationship: issues of caring, cold feet, love and commitment. Tune in Tues 7/14 @ 3pm PT on ‘InsideOut‘ with Beth Green.

Is the Catholic Church Going Through an Inner Revolution? Meet Sister Simone Campbell and See for Yourself!

SisterSimone2015

In 2012 the Vatican cracked down on American nuns for challenging the hierarchy and focusing on social services and equality, rather than on abortion. Guilty as charged! Our guest Sister Simone Campbell and her organization NETWORK are Catholic sisters committed to awakening social conscience and lobbying for change. The Vatican specifically cited NETWORK, so Simone seized the opportunity to launch a series of tours called the Nuns on the Bus, attracting even more attention to the many social needs American nuns have been addressing. When Pope Francis was elected in 2013, he called on Christians to become revolutionaries caring for the poor and now he’s confronting climate change and our responsibility for it. He also met with representatives of America’s nuns and expressed his appreciation. Sounds like an Inner Revolution! Now Simone and two other nuns are the subject of a new documentary called Radical Grace. An activist touched by spirit, she’s is not alone. Tune in to ‘InsideOut‘ and learn more!

Paris, Rome, and Iowa? The Link is John Davis, Who Shares About the Climate and Our Future!

A recent U.N. poll shows that 90% of the world’s citizens want governments to lead us toward zero emissions to combat climate change. That’s rich, poor, everybody. The U.N. Conference on Climate is happening this December, and the future is in their hands. With so much at stake, people everywhere are mobilizing to get governments to act. On June 18, the Pope issued an encyclical saying that human-made climate change is fact (the Pope is a trained scientist) and that confronting it is a moral imperative. Yet in our own nation, the Chairman of the Senate Environment Committee, Inhofe (R-OK), says climate change is a hoax or doesn’t matter. So, Paris – the climate conference in December; Italy – the Pope; and Iowa? That’s where John Davis comes in. John is an organizer for the Climate Reality Project in Iowa, and he’s a grandfather who cares. He can help us understand the Pope’s encyclical, and he can share with us what we can do to get our government to listen and act. Tune in! Call in! Blending Spirituality and Activism: The Message and Journey of James O’Dea, Renowned Conscious Activist

As children, many of us felt called to DO something to help our world. Some became dedicated activists. But many of us became discouraged or burnt out from the anguish and the anger of the movement itself. Then some of us found a new way. One such person is James O’Dea, former president of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, the Washington office director of Amnesty International, author, philosopher and international peace worker. James is joining host Beth Green to talk about his latest book The Conscious Activist, where he describes his own journey from mysticism, to outrage, to a mature blending of his spirituality and his commitment to help. James is calling us to work on ourselves and face the suffering of the world and to learn to act from the insight gained from the depths of compassion. The Inner Revolution is the movement of people to change the world from the inside out. Meet James O’Dea, who is doing just that and lighting the way for others to do the same. Tune in, call in. Tune into InsideOut: The Inner Revolution with Beth Green, 6/9 at 3pm PT.

Are We Really Connected to Each Other and Something Bigger? Meet a Doctor Who Says Yes and It Matters!

Larry Dossey main face

On June 2, Beth Green, host of InsideOut radio is thrilled to announce her next guest, Larry Dossey. A guy steps on your foot. Ouch! Are you feeling his pain or just yours? It’s horrible to see people getting blown up in Iraq, but is it as painful as your spouse dumping you after 25 years? Oneness is a great idea, but is it real? Hear a scientist who says yes. Dr. Larry Dossey is a physician, executive editor of Explore: Journal of Science & Healing, former co-chairman of the Panel on Mind-Body Interventions, renowned world lecturer and author of ONE MIND, and he says he knows that we’re not separate, but rather part of something bigger. Not only is he ready to share his evidence, he says connecting to One Mind is better for our world and our health. Overcoming the feeling of separateness is part of the Inner Revolution, so let’s welcome Dr. Dossey to our show. If you’ve had experiences that showed you’re connected to others, you are not alone. Learn about scientists and lay people alike who’ve experienced that, too. Tune into our show. Or, better yet, call! The doctor will be in.

Talk about a fellow Inner Revolutionary…it’s Dr. Dossey! Dr. Larry Dossey is an internal medicine physician, former Chief of Staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital, and former co-chairman of the Panel on Mind/Body Interventions, National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, National Institutes of Health.  He is executive editor of the peer-previewed journal Explore:  The Journal of Science and Healing.  He is the author of twelve books on the role of consciousness and spirituality in health, which have been translated into languages around the world.  His most recent book is ONE MIND:  How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters.  He lectures around the world.

InsideOut Forum Discussion Call: The Corruption of Social Media and the Subversion of the Inner Revolution

corruption of social media

On the InsideOut Forum Discussion Call today we challenged ourselves and each other to look at how we and others have corrupted social media, how we have undermined the Inner Revolution by our self-centered or divisive, often erroneous, sharing.
