Exploration & Exotic Travel By Cynthia Brian

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”  ― T. S. Eliot
Much of the world was mapped between the 1440-1600’s because of the three “G’s”- God, gold, and glory. Past/Present reporter, Chelsea Pelchat, shares a history lesson on how nations across the world became an interconnected web of commerce and communication. New Reporter of Trends without Ends, Jack Pawlakos, reports on how recent innovations in technology with virtual reality allow us to explore the entire world without ever leaving our living room. Lifelong explorer and photographer, Greg DeBree, tells stories from his life of traveling, hunting, fishing, diving, climbing, and firefighting from Indiana to the Sonoran desert, from the Sea of Cortez to the California Sierras, from Hawaii to Antarctica.

What’s on your adventure bucket list?

Guest BIO: Greg DeBree
I was born in Indiana but left when I was 11 to live in Arizona.  Both places molded my need to explore.  In Indiana we lived in a rural community with many opportunities to get out in nature and examine the outdoor world.  In Arizona I discovered the desert near my home. I hunted, fished, and rode horseback throughout the Sonoran desert.  At 16, in the Sea of Cortez and California and learned how to SCUBA dive and surf. At 18, I moved to Lake Tahoe at 18 to discover the Sierras.  Being a teacher afforded me summers and other vacation options.  For several summers I worked as a volunteer seasonal firefighter.  In winter, I skied across Yosemite and other remote places.  In 2000 my wife and I began spending summers in Hawaii where water sports abound.  Throughout my life, I have shot photos of wildlife and wild places. Last year, Antarctica was my destination. Exploring and adventures will be my lifetime pursuit. Australia is next on my bucket list.

Wheel of Fortune with 2

Every week, Express Yourself!™ will bring you a stimulating program based on a chapter from our award winning book Be the Star You Are!® for Teens.
Asya Gonzalez-stinking feet - 4
“Reality is merely an illusion; albeit a very persistent one.” ~Albert Einstein
Two fantastic guests are interviewed by host Asya Gonzalez in today’s program focusing on reality. Both guests have become accidental celebrities. Alice Abruzzini, AKA Nonie, and now referred to as Vanna 2, made TV history by being the first person other than Vanna White to share the stage with Pat Sajak as he ends Wheel of Fortune. At 87 years young, being “Vanna” on a reality game show was living her dream.  Venezuelan born Michelle Poler began a school project of 100 Days without Fear that has become a life changing experience .. In efforts to become a braver person, Michelle completed a project where she faced one fear a day for 100
days. She recorded herself on each challenge and posted them daily to YouTube. What she didn’t expect was get 4.5 followers!
Asya wraps up the show by discussing her charity, She is Worth It, and the efforts to stop the reality of sex trafficking in the United States.
“You are the architect of your reality. Build with truth and live in authenticity.” Cynthia Brian
Nonie-Pat-Wheel of Fortune
Bio: Alice Abruzzini aka Nonie is a native of Napa Valley and has been in the viticulture industry for 68 years. At 87 years young, she is the mother of 5, grandmother to 11, and great-grandmother to 10. She crossed off her bucket list on the April 11, 2016 Wheel of Fortune TV series making TV history when she was asked to be “Vanna” to end the show where her grandson, Brian, had just won the game.

Michelle Poler
Bio: Michelle Poler, originally from Caracas, Venezuela, is a graduate from the School of Visual Arts holding a master’s degree in Branding. A few months ago, she quit her job as an Art Director to develop what started as a school project and turned into a life-changing experience.
In 2015, Michelle decided to face all of her fears and record herself for her project 100 Days Without Fear. She planned to become a braver person by the end of the 100 days, what she didn’t plan was to inspire millions along the way. www.100dayswithoutfear.com
