– Do you speak another language? Is communicating important to you? Host Brigitte Jia leads a lively conversation with reporters Zahra Hasanian, Joven Hundal, and Katie Choo around the topic of the cultural connections of languages. Learning a second language is actually linked to various health benefits. For example, a study a few years back covered by National Geographic concluded that learning and speaking a second language can stave off Alzheimer’s’ and dementia for four more years. Language gives people hope, and it can also snatch away hope, whether for propaganda or poetry. Technology offers another hurdle as our communications are not face to face.
– Employers are looking for people who can not only speak English well, but also have a somewhat diverse knowledge of languages. Whether it’s sign, music, art, or dance, we are surrounded by language. How you communicate will determine how high you bounce in life.
