Time for Giving and Gratitude By Cynthia Brian

“There are eight rungs in charity. The highest is when you help a man to help himself.”― Maimonides

Message from Founder, Cynthia Brian

For me Thanksgiving is every day because I truly believe in being grateful. So often we tend to focus on what we don’t have instead of offering thanks for what we do have. I am grateful for my health,  a loving family, a roof over my head, food in my belly, friends to play with, nature to grow me, work for which I’m passionate, and for all of you who support, volunteer, donate, and believe in the mission of Be the Star You Are!® Here at Be the Star You Are!® we truly believe in empowerment, starting with encouraging and mentoring our volunteers to be the best they can be. Everyday we are reaching for the stars and helping others learn to land on them too.

As the holidays begin, we hope you will give yourself the gift of year-end giving by opening your wallets to make a tax deductible donation to Be the Star You Are!®. We make it so easy for you.
You can send a check to BTSYA, PO Box 376, Moraga, Ca. 94556. You can call us with a credit card at 925-377-STAR, or easiest of all, make your donation on-line either at our web site www.BetheStarYouAre.org or directly at PayPal Giving Fund where 100% of your donation funds our outreach projects.

As you reflect on what matters most in your life, consider sharing the bounty to improve the lives of those less fortunate through the outreach programs of Be the Star You Are!®.
Gratitude is an attitude and we THANK  YOU!
Have a healthy, happy, generous Thanksgiving. Remember to always BE the STAR YOU Are!

Cynthia Brian
Founder/Executive Director

There are no mistakes, only life lessons

There are no mistakes, only life lessons

Life is a series of moments in which we are constantly making choices. Choices of varying degrees of significance. Some choices are simple with little consequence and others can be life altering. Some make us feel proud and internally grateful; others can make us feel sad, regretful, and vulnerable.

Keeping an open mind during vulnerable moments in life is not an easy task. It takes courage and discipline to throw away our crutches and habitual ways to face life without any blinders. I’ve been there…I know. It requires a willingness to move beyond ingrained ways of thinking. A willingness to transcend fear, accept the facts as they are, and stand on unfamiliar ground. All choices in life hold a lesson for us.  Making good or bad choices teach us important lessons about ourselves. We learn over time what works and what does not work for us. When things are not working, we have the ability to make new choices and take a new path. It’s never easy to admit you’ve made a mistake, but it’s a crucial step in learning, growing, and improving yourself. Here are 4 steps to help you press on to brighter days:

1. Take some time to experience the emotion the mistake brings.

2. Realize we are all human and mistakes happen. Accept responsibility and forgive yourself.

3. Find the lesson that’s hidden in your current situation. Ask yourself, what can you do differently next time a similar situation arises that led to the mistake?

4. Live and learn. Move forward with integrity and grace. Your past mistakes are meant to guide you, not define you.

Nancy Gentle Boudrie’s Gentle Power Radio airs each Tuesday at 3pm ET, 12pm PT on the VoiceAmerica.com-Empowerment Channel.

All too often we compartmentalize our lives. Join me and my guest Sally Miller, from the hit series Natural Reboot, as we assist you in living a spiritually based lifestyle. Remembering, you don’t “do” spirituality you ARE spirituality. Living in a State of Grace

During this show, Nancy Gentle Boudrie will discuss connecting to the power within to heal and not escape reality by harnessing our inner power to heal past wounds. We can move forward or lift the veil of pain to claim our sense of Grace. The guest on this show is author, Yoga, and Meditation Instructor Robert Butera, who will discusses how to avoid the defense mechanism “spiritual bypassing” used to disconnect from feelings and shield the truth.
