She wanted options that would give her another avenue to health other than the only choice but to see her “shrink” every month while he “patted me on the head to make sure that I knew ‘I had to take the meds for the rest of my life’ and if I didn’t comply it would be back to the psych ward.” According to Cynthia, “This is the worst manipulation going on in this country and it has to STOP.”

Today Cynthia is thriving had has started a movement to engage individuals labeled with mental health disorders that society has chosen to give them all for the sake of absurd amounts of profits.

Study Reports Significant Robust Improvement in ADHD and Depression with Micronutrient Protocol By Leslie Carol Botha

medicineHoly Hormones Honey! Tune in for Leslie Botha’s latest Episode  “Study Reports Significant Robust Improvement in ADHD and Depression with Micronutrient Protocol” airing Thursday Feb. 20th 9am Pacific Time on the VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition and the most commonly diagnosed psychiatric disorder in childhood often persisting into adulthood.  As many as one in 20 adults have ADHD marked by symptoms such as inattention and lack of concentration, impulsiveness, and difficulty controlling behavior. Many other symptoms are associated with ADHD including hyperactivity, bipolar and panic disorders, anxiety, depression, and social anxiety.  Micronutrient treatment found to be more effective than placebo Researchers at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch New Zealand used a double blind study finding that the nutritional supplement Truehope EMPowerplus™ has significant benefits for adults with psychiatric symptoms of ADHD, depression, hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention. Dr. Julia Rucklidge and her team of researchers successfully completed the placebo-controlled study, which was published Jan. 31 in The British Journal of Psychiatry.

Would you consider a 47.6% outcome for a study on mood disorders significant? What would you say if this published study was on a micronutrient supplement and not a drug? Last week, a ground-breaking study published in the British Medical Journal cited that researchers at the University of Canterbury in NZ found the micronutrient supplement Truehope EMPowerplus™ had significant benefits for adults with psychiatric symptoms of ADHD, depression, hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention.  The research publication also identified a major reduction in symptoms in those suffering from ‘moderate’ to ‘severe’ depression.  Truehope founder, Anthony Stephan believes that this research now places EMPowerplus™ in a new class of first line treatments for the most common mood disorders.  The safety profile of the product has been researched extensively and has been proven to be safe in use over the past 16 years.  EMPowerplus™ has now been the subject of 24 medical journal publications.

Tony

Anthony Stephan is the founder of Truehope Inc., the leaders of brain health. His quest to find a natural solution for bipolar disorder started with a personal tragedy – the suicide of his wife, who battled bipolar her entire life, and the discovery that two of his nine children were afflicted with the disease. Through his hard work, he helped his children reclaim their lives. But he didn’t stop there – to date, he’s helped over 100,000 people through the Truehope Program, in over 600 countries.  There are now over 20 independent journal publications on his product.

For Stephan, the assurances of a Calgary psychiatrist, that his uncontrollable teenage son would never improve, and instead deteriorate was the prod to find an answer.  He was told he should prepare for another suicide in his family. “That hit me in the gut. Something snapped. I was not prepared to accept that God would put people on the Earth to suffer like this. There had to be an answer.”

Anatomy of an Epidemic: The Hidden Danger of ‘Wonder Drugs’ With Leslie Carol Botha

mentalTune in to Holy Hormones Honey! with Leslie Botha for her New Episode “Anatomy of an Epidemic: The Hidden Danger of ‘Wonder Drugs.’ Are ‘Wonder Drugs’ Doing More Harm Than Good?” on the Voiceamerica Health and Wellness Channel, airs Thursday January 30th at 9am Pacific Time.

Robert Whitaker is an award-winning science reporter who has explored the history of mental illness in America – with disturbing results. In his new book, Anatomy of an Epidemic: Magic Bullets, Psychiatric Drugs, and the Astonishing Rise of Mental Illness in America, Whitaker asks if ‘wonder drugs’ like Prozac are really helping medical consumers, then why has the number of Americans on government disability due to mental illness skyrocketed from 1.25 million in 1987 to over 4 million today?

Anatomy-of-an-Epidemic-197x300

Are the long term-effects of using ‘wonder’ drugs causing the very problem that psychotropic drugs were supposed to ‘manage’?  Are these ‘wonder’ drugs doing more harm than good? Are they distorting our mental faculties? Are we going “Mad in America” while the rest of the world is watching?

In this episode, the long-term effects of psychiatric drugs, the link between social violence and drugs, and forced psychotropic treatments will be explored.

DeAnna L’am: Red Tents in Every Neighborhood World Summit by Leslie Carol Botha

deannaTune in to Holy Hormones Honey! with Leslie Botha for her New Episode “DeAnna L’am: Red Tents in Every Neighborhood World Summit” on the Voiceamerica Health and Wellness Channel airs Thursday January 9th 9am Pacific Time.

How would the world be different if girls growing up today had a Red Tent to go to in their own neighborhood?

Judith Duerk first asked in 1989: “How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you to be, a place of women, where you were nurtured as you sought to become yourself?”

DeAnna L’am has gathered 30 women from around the world to participate in the first-ever Red Tent Summit.

Why is the Red Tent such a phenomenon?

It seems that women around the world are touched to their core by this story of the biblical Hebrew tribe of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, told through the lens and voice of its women.

At the center of these women’s experience is the ‘Red Tent’: a sacred space where women gathered to rest, renew, and share their stories.

The Red Tent is now a global movement inspiring women to honor and celebrate each others stories and achievements.

DeAnna will share her inspirational wisdom on the revival of the Red Tent tradition for women of all ages.

Guest Bio: DeAnna L’am

A pioneer in Menstrual Empowerment, DeAnna L’am is a recognized world expert in helping women and girls make coming-of-age easier, and womanhood richer.

Like many women, DeAnna struggled with PMS and for many years viewed her period as a bother and a nuisance. In 1992 she began a personal journey toward embracing her monthly cycle, which led her to “reverse the curse!”

Having already been a trained coach and facilitator at the time, she called her first Menstrual Empowerment circle in 1994. The response was overwhelming, and the journey embarked upon — profound.
DeAnna empowers women to reclaim menstruation as source of inner guidance and spiritual renewal; coaching Moms in the art of welcoming their daughters into empowered womanhood, and training women to hold Red Tents in their communities.  DeAnna is author of Becoming Peers – Mentoring Girls Into Womanhood and A Diva’s Guide To Getting Your Period.

pharmageddon

Tune in to Holy Hormones Honey! with Leslie Botha for her New Episode “Dr. David Healy: Pharmageddon – A Story of a Tragedy of Epic Proportions” on the Voiceamerica Health and Wellness Channel airs Thursday January 9th 9am Pacific Time.

In 1962 a sleeping pill called thalidomide caused a drug disaster whose emblematic images of limbless and handicapped babies born to distraught mothers linger to this day. Congress swung into action wanting to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. They were also determined to rein in the marketing excesses of the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Healy’s latest book Pharmageddon, documents the riveting and terrifying story of how pharmaceutical companies have hijacked healthcare in America and the life-threatening results that have since transpired.

The horrors are best depicted by increasing numbers of pregnant women who steer clear of anything that might harm their unborn child, but who are urged by their doctors to take antidepressants — now the most commonly prescribed drugs in pregnancy — even as evidence accumulates that these drugs cause birth defects, double the rate of miscarriages, and cause mental handicap in children born to mothers who have been taking them.

Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? Our Serotonin Nightmare by Leslie Carol Botha

Holy Hormones Honey! Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? Our Serotonin Nightmare  airs on the VoiceAmerica Radio Network on Thursday January 2nd at 10 AM Pacific Time.

ABT Prozac Panacea or Pandora

Ann Blake Tracy, PhD, author of Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare became an ardent activist after the attempted suicides by two of her nieces – one while on Prozac and the other on Wellbutrin. Dr. Tracy has been researching, writing, and lecturing about serotoneric medications since 1990, and testifying in court cases involving antidepressants& the newer atypical antipsychotics in both the US & Canada since 1992.

Tracy demonstrates that impairing serotonin metabolism results in a multitude of symptoms including suicide, violent crime, mania and psychosis. Suicidal ideation is, without question, associated with these drugs.

According to Dr. Tracy we have a new vocabulary as a result of SSRI’s: road rage; suicide by cop; murder/suicide; going postal; false memory syndrome; school shooting, and bi-polar – a condition that affects 1 in 3 people – not to mention skyrocketing rates of antidepressant-induced diabetes and hypoglycemia.

Ann Blake-Tracy

BiographyDr. Ann Blake-Tracy, holds a Ph.D. in Health Sciences with the emphasis on Psychology, and serves as the executive director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness. She has specialized for 17 years in adverse reactions to serotonergic medications (such as Prozac, Sarafem, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor, Serzone, Remeron, Anafranil, Fen-Phen, Redux and Meridia as well as the new atypical antipsychotics Zyprexa, Geodon, Seroquel and Abilify), as well as pain killers, and has testified before the FDA and congressional subcommittee members on antidepressants.
Since 1992 she has testified as an expert witness in Prozac and other SSRI related court cases around the world. Some of the more high profile cases she has worked on include the murder/suicide of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn, the Columbine & Red Lake School shootings, and Andrea Yates – the Texas mother who drowned her five children.
