Tim Wu “Father” of Net Neutrality, on Entrepreneurship and Innovation

GloablReach

Join me for an interview with Tim Wu, the “father” of Net Neutrality, author of “Master Switch” and democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of New York. It’s a wide open discussion on policy and politics impacting entrepreneurs, innovation and the fight for free and open networks and economies. Who does control the Internet? Could the Internet come to be ruled by one corporate leviathan in possession of “the master switch”? Is the borderless world an illusion? As the U.S. FCC ends its review, what is the fate of Net Neutrality? How should EU and U.S. governments shape competition and antitrust laws to nurture creative, innovation economies? Entrepreneurial economies? Is political corruption an innovation killer? What policies and regs help small businesses thrive? Should information be a public good? Can we have an open internet and “paid prioritization? What is the future of internet governance? How can you impact the formation of policies that impact your business?

Express Yourself Teens Talk Discuss Kids in the Kitchen By Cynthia Brian

Super Bowl BBQ

Everyone has to eat, but not everyone knows how to cook. Hosts Youngjoo Ahn and Asya Gonzalez are kids in the kitchen as they interview a young baker/candle maker, LAFD firefighter/cook, and Health Beat Reporter, Nicole Eubanks. Nicole admits to always being starving when she gets home from school and dishes up simple ways to cook up batches of nutritious, delicious foods to have ready to munch. Asya’s youngest brother, Nolan, loves to bake and prefers to be in the kitchen making his Chum Bucket Candles or baking cookies instead of being on the radio talking about cooking. Los Angeles Firefighter, Brian Rankin, serves hot ideas from the fire station grill while encouraging the teens to start flaming the fires of their cooking desires. It’s a tasty show and you’ll be hungry. Time to cook up some fun and channel your inner chef.  Listen at VoiceAmerica and Express Yourself! Teen Radio.

Express Yourself Teens Talk Discuss “YouTube and Instagram“

There is no question that YouTube and Instagram are two of the most popular programs today, especially for teens.  YouTube has launched careers (think Justin Bieber and contestants on The Voice) and created online celebrities who have gone one to create companies based on their videos.  If you own an ipad, iphone, ipod touch, or any smart phone, Instagram is a fast, beautiful, easy and FREE way to share your pictures and life with your friends and family.

You can take a picture or video, post to Instagram, and then share to Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, and more! And with 150 million monthly users, it’s a whole new way to see the world! Hosts Youngjoo Ahn and Asya Gonzalez talk about their favorite people, channels, topics, mentors, and influences. Techie Talks reporter Caiseen Kelley explains how ordinary folks become YouTube stars and how they monetize their concepts as YouTube partners. Health Beat reporter, Nicole Eubanks likes the health, fitness, and beauty channels in her quest to live a healthier lifestyle and recommends helpful videos.

Youngjoo likes to blog and shoot photos but she doesn’t make her own videos yet.  Artistic Asya is in the process of developing a unique teen advice column and welcomes an Instagram following at CityRouge.  All agree that both YouTube and Instagram are mainstays in their every day life as their source of information, entertainment, advice, and fun insights.  Visit the Be the Star You Are!® YouTube channel. Listen at Voice America and Express Yourself!
