bipolarTune in for “Holy Hormones Honey!” with Host Leslie Botha for her new episode “A ‘Mad’ Woman’s Story of Psychosis to ‘Happily Ever-After’ ” on the Voiceamerica Health and Wellness Channel on Thursday Feb. 27th 9am Pacific Time.

After years of misdiagnosis, and RX drugs Cynthia Grace Fitzgerald-Costanzo moved from mania to the darkest depression and suicidal ideation that even her psychiatrist and therapist said they had ever seen.

At one point Cynthia felt strong enough to pursue a natural alternative to resolve her symptoms. She set out to CURE herself and to shed the label and stigma of being bi-polar. She wanted options that would give her another avenue to health other than the only choice but to see her “shrink” every month while he “patted me on the head to make sure that I knew ‘I had to take the meds for the rest of my life’ and if I didn’t comply it would be back to the psych ward.” According to Cynthia, “This is the worst manipulation going on in this country and it has to STOP.”

Today Cynthia is thriving had has started a movement to engage individuals labeled with mental health disorders that society has chosen to give them all for the sake of absurd amounts of profits.

Holy Hormones Honey! Tune in for Leslie Botha’s latest Episode Controversial EMPowerplus Proves Effective for ADHD and Mood Disordersairing on the VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel.

Truehope

Would you consider a 47.6% outcome for a study on mood disorders significant? What would you say if this published study was on a micronutrient supplement and not a drug?

Last week, a ground-breaking study published in the British Medical Journal cited that researchers at the University of Canterbury in NZ found the micronutrient supplement Truehope EMPowerplus™ had significant benefits for adults with psychiatric symptoms of ADHD, depression, hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention.  The research publication also identified a major reduction in symptoms in those suffering from ‘moderate’ to ‘severe’ depression.

Truehope founder, Anthony Stephan believes that this research now places EMPowerplus™ in a new class of first line treatments for the most common mood disorders.  The safety profile of the product has been researched extensively and has been proven to be safe in use over the past 16 years.

EMPowerplus™ has now been the subject of 24 medical journal publications.

Anthony Stephan is the founder of Truehope Inc., the leaders of brain health. His quest to find a natural solution for bipolar disorder started with a personal tragedy – the suicide of his wife, who battled bipolar her entire life, and the discovery that two of his nine children were afflicted with the disease. Through his hard work, he helped his children reclaim their lives. But he didn’t stop there – to date, he’s helped over 100,000 people through the Truehope Program, in over 600 countries.  There are now over 20 independent journal publications on his product.

For Stephan, the assurances of a Calgary psychiatrist, that his uncontrollable teenage son would never improve, and instead deteriorate was the prod to find an answer.  He was told he should prepare for another suicide in his family. “That hit me in the gut. Something snapped. I was not prepared to accept that God would put people on the Earth to suffer like this. There had to be an answer.”

pharmageddon

Tune in to Holy Hormones Honey! with Leslie Botha for her New Episode “Dr. David Healy: Pharmageddon – A Story of a Tragedy of Epic Proportions” on the Voiceamerica Health and Wellness Channel airs Thursday January 9th 9am Pacific Time.

In 1962 a sleeping pill called thalidomide caused a drug disaster whose emblematic images of limbless and handicapped babies born to distraught mothers linger to this day. Congress swung into action wanting to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. They were also determined to rein in the marketing excesses of the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Healy’s latest book Pharmageddon, documents the riveting and terrifying story of how pharmaceutical companies have hijacked healthcare in America and the life-threatening results that have since transpired.

The horrors are best depicted by increasing numbers of pregnant women who steer clear of anything that might harm their unborn child, but who are urged by their doctors to take antidepressants — now the most commonly prescribed drugs in pregnancy — even as evidence accumulates that these drugs cause birth defects, double the rate of miscarriages, and cause mental handicap in children born to mothers who have been taking them.

Predicting Weather by the Moon: Why climate is unlikely to be changing

climatechange

This week’s episode, Predicting Weather by the Moon: Why Climate Change is Unlikely the be Changing  on Holy Hormones Honey! airs  Nov. 21st LIVE at 9 am Pacific.  Catch this episode and others on demand every day here!

According to Ken Ring, the climate today is the same as 100 years ago.  He believes it is the ‘record-breaking industry’ making us think something frighteningly strange is happening in the world of nature, completely independent from the world of business.

Instead we are fed a media frenzy of records broken in national temperatures, rainfall amounts, hurricanes or droughts.  We are told we have never been this warm before or as cold. This or that is ‘worst ever’, ‘worst since records began’ or ‘worst in living memory’. Climate change comes from accounts of temperature records being smashed.

Ken predicted the tragic February 2011 earthquake in Christchurch which claimed 185 lives, six months before it happened. Many had chosen to leave town on the named day and were grateful for the warning. Although his predictions upset both geologists and politicians, it also won him widespread interest and support for the theory that the moon controls both weather and earthquakes.

In 1999 he published the first of his annual Weather Almanacs and in 2002 he established Predict Weather Limited which now supplies farmers with data more meaningful than a day-before forecasting system. The Australian almanacs began in 2007; the Ireland version in 2010.

Ken is still the only published long range forecaster in these three countries and presents at conferences throughout Australia and NZ. He has weekly and monthly spots on a number of regional radio stations in NZ, Australia and Ireland, as well as being a regular face on Australia’s Channel’s Nine and Seven. He also has monthly columns in magazines and regional newspapers. The almanacs have a strong following amongst the many whose business or leisure activities are affected by the weather.

The dirty little secret in women’s healthcare

Health care reform

This week’s episode, The Dirty Little Secrets in Women’s Healthcare on Holy Hormones Honey! airs  November 14the  LIVE at 9 am Pacific.  Catch this episode and others on demand every day here!

Introduction & Background

A dirty little secret in the world of women’s healthcare – there are relatively few data guiding medical decision-making. Indeed, across all medical specialties the auspices of evidence-based are crumbling quickly in the face of open access and open science. Recent reports suggest less than 50% of all medical treatments have any data to support their efficacy. Of that evidence, much could be suspect given the rampant payments from pharmaceutical and device companies to physicians and other decision-makers, plus the well-documented publishing bias and even fraud plaguing the scientific publishing industry.

In women’s health, matters are even worse. Not only are evidenced-based, clinical practice guidelines nearly non-existent in Ob/Gyn (only 30% of practice guidelines based on data) and women still not included in early stage clinical trials in sufficient numbers, but regulatory agencies do not mandate gender analytics for new medications. The result, post market adverse events – think death and disabling injury – are more common in women than men.

Why do women die and suffer from adverse events at a much higher rate than men?  Because most medications reach the market without the appropriate testing or analytics to distinguish why women might respond to said medications differently than men.  Even in the lab, male rodents are used about 90% of the time.

The lack of data in women’s healthcare is unacceptable. We know that the larger companies who sell these products have no motivation to gather or make public these types of data – too many billions of dollars are at stake – and so, it is up to us, the women who need safe health products for ourselves and our families, to be the change agents.

That’s where Dr. Marrs and her company Lucine Health Sciences come in. Dr. Marrs believes that patients and physicians ought to have credible and unbiased information from which to make healthcare decisions. She created Hormones Matter – Where health and hormones make sense to fill the credibility gap in health media. Hormones Matter is online, community publication offering readers cutting edge research, policy and health news with analysis of issues and topics that affect women and their families. The publication gives voice to patients with difficult to diagnose and treat conditions and provides insight and interaction from health communities around the world.

Since much of the data to make informed healthcare decisions do not exist, Dr. Marrs has made it her company’s mission to collect those data. To that end, Lucine through Hormones Matter is running five online studies with many more planned:

  • ·         The oral contraceptives Survey safety, off-label prescribing and efficacy
  • ·         The Hysterectomy Survey– causes, outcomes and efficacy
  • ·         The Gardasil Cervarix HPV Vaccine Survey – safety and side-effects
  • ·         The Lupron Side Effects Survey
  • ·         The Fluoroquinolone Antibiotic Side Effects Survey

HPV Vaccine Injured Girls: I am Not a Coincidence

2013 Gardasil poster[1]

In 2006, Merck & Co. rolled out the award-winning “One Less Girl to Get Cervical Cancer” campaign to encourage parents to get their girls vaccinated against four strains of the Human Papillomavirus. Until that time, HPV was unheard of.  In the past 7 years, over 31,740 adverse reactions and 144 deaths from the HPV vaccines Gardasil and Cervarix have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Many of these events have been life threatening and resulted in permanent disability.  Yet the government is claiming the injuries are a ‘co-incidence’ after vaccination.  The Canary Party, a movement created to stand up for the victims of medical injury, environmental toxins and industrial foods has initiated a video campaign to educate consumers about the potential dangers of the HPV vaccines. The vaccine-injured girls in the video are speaking out to reclaim their lives and dignity by emphatically stating “I am not a coincidence.”

Autumn Stringam: A Promise of Hope for Mood Disorders BY LESLIE BOTHA

Holy Hormones Honey! The Greatest StoryNever Told! debuts on the VoiceAmerica Radio Network on Thursday August 8. The show will air live at 10 AM MDT on the VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel.

The radio show  is dedicated to every woman who has ever experienced a hormonefluctuation, from menarche to menopause!  Sponsored by Truehope Inc., The Leaders in Brain Health, the focus of the show will be on addressing core biological issues that cause mood disorders and/or mental illness from a micronutrient support perspective. Because no one can make a sound decision unless their brain functioning is intact.

For decades, the power of women’s hormone shifts has been unrecognized and underestimated. In fact, women make up the majority of mental health diagnoses’ due, in part, to a lack of education about the endocrine system and how and why our hormones affect our minds, moods, and behaviors. For too many years women have been labeled as ‘mentally disordered’ if they struggle with their menstrual cycle. Women will be the portal to sharing this information with the men and children in their lives. Because when women thrive, everyone thrives. Now that is true hope.

Autumn Stringam lg edit

Join Leslie Carol Botha when she interviews Autumn Stringam â€“ a woman with a family history of severe bipolar disorder (her mother and grandfather committed suicide because of the disease – and her now 20 year recovery from medications and institutions because of her father’s dedication to saving her life.

If you are looking for hope  then you are in the right place. Autumn Stringam, author of “A Promise of Hope” will be sharing her incredible journey from the depths of bipolar disorder to becoming a beacon for thousands of others when she changed her ‘hopelessness to healing’ with the use of micronutrients.

In 1995, Autumn Stringam had been using 13 drugs in different combinations with multiple hospitalizations and therapy for several years, to no avail. Her bipolar symptoms were out of control.  One terrible hospitalization after another for Autumn finally led her husband, to seek family help. Autumn was no longer able to drive, care for herself or 3-year-old son, and the psychiatrist demanded assurances of 24-hour adult supervision for Autumn when she was not in the hospital.

Using the Truehope EMPowerplus micronutrient combination, Autumn was able to eliminate all of her psychiatric drugs in only two months.

Autumn grew up in a bipolar household, losing both her grandfather and her mother to suicide by the age of 21. At 19, Autumn was diagnosed with Bipolar I with rapid cycles and Schizophrenic tendencies and before long had tried 13 different drug combinations, to no avail. Hospitalization and regular emergency visits to the doctor for sedative injections were common when each of the drug combinations stopped working.

Since starting the micronutrient therapy in 1995, which finally resolved her symptoms, Autumn has become an author, magazine contributor, public speaker and political advocate for the rights of the mentally ill. She is a mother of four and has dedicated her life to breaking the cycle of illness that plagued her family. She is educating and supporting other people who want to find total healing from the aftermath of mental illness.

Autumn’s inspiring memoir, â€œA Promise of Hope” (HarperCollins, 2007) is available on Amazon.com
