Conference &Business Expo

October 23-24, 2015, SpeakEnglish5 will host the SpeakEnglish5 Synergy Conference/Business Expo in Washington, DC. This event, theme “Finding Your Passion & Purpose”, will feature businesses/nonprofits owned by women inside professional sports. Morgan Stanley, our partner, has assisted with developing an impressive agenda that will include presentations, breakout sessions, speed networking, and a panel discussion that will provide expert direction in business.  In addition, we have partnered with Centric TV, Synergy Title Sponsor, and they have other surprises for conference attendees. Our partnership with Heart and Soul Magazine has given us an opportunity to reach households everywhere. Lastly, our NBA families have given us incredible support.

One of our illustrious presenters is Ron Busby, from the U.S. Black Chambers… SpeakEnglish5 has also partnered with KINfolk (www.kinfolkkids.org) to broaden our reach in order to serve more needy families. Synergy Conference/Business Expo participants will include women from the NBA, NFL, MLB, WNBA, and NHL. The event will attract many businesses and professional women from the DC area, across the country and overseas.

Friday October 23rd we will kick off the weekend with community service benefiting N Street Village in Washington, DC at which time we will prepare and serve lunch to 85 homeless women.

Later that evening we will conclude with an exclusive VIP reception sponsored by internationally acclaimed law firm, Reed Smith hosted by Charrisse Jordan and Marcia Dyson. Our “movers and shakers” in attendance will be entertained by a live jazz band.

In our excursion through this fascinating project called life, we are necessarily called upon to contribute to the overall evolution of mankind by performing some role or the other. We may even find ourselves performing a multiplicity of roles. In the process, we affect our environment, either for good or for bad. Of equal significance is the fact that the extent to which we are committed to our roles, or mission, if you will, especially when they do turn out for the collective good of all, is primary determinant of just how purposeful our sojourn has been. However, the basic framework on which that purpose is built, in turn, is determined by the values which we hold dear. We must stand for something, lest we stand for just about anything.
